Hyrul Anuar, born in 23rd September 1985, with a Diploma in Media and Communication from Singapore Polytechnic, was the winner of the most phenomenal talent search competition ‘Anugerah 2005’ organized by Suria Mediacorp. Joining the idol alumni from Singapore Polytechnic, Khairul Anuar Bin Mohamed Nawar or popularly known as Hyrul Anuar, is the third talent the institution has given birth to, after Kelly Poon from Project Superstar and Taufik Batisah from Singapore Idol.

Having clinched the award for Suria’s Upcoming Icon in PestaPestaPesta 2006 organised by 2M, led him into being one of the channel’s most sought-after faces. Known for his boyish charm and strong vocals, he was also nominated as one of the five most popular male personalities in Pesta Perdana 06/07. Hyrul has ever since represented Suria in the regional combined concerts, namely Muzika Ekstravaganza and Rapsodi, in Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam respectively. Hyrul was also chosen as one of the Idols to represent the Malay community in the National Day Parade 2006.

Hyrul actively participated in community-based programmes and was involved as one of the celebrity spokesperson for the Anti-Smoking Campaign roadshows organized by the Health Promotion Board. He was also selected by AWWA to be one of the celebrity caregivers, to represent and be a spokesperson to the youth community. He has been the speaker for Best Denki and the local popular beverage, Anything/Whatever, throughout his journey in the industry.

He has released 5 singles up to date, which has entered into the local charts and received tremendous support from the local listeners. His nominations for most popular male singer in Anugerah Planet Muzik for three consecutive years marked his steps into the local music industry.His new single, ‘Popular’ was just released through two major Malay radio stations, Ria 897FM and Warna 942FM, which have been receiving well reviews from the listeners. The release of his first full debut album in 2010 is expected to create another milestone in his achievement. Besides singing, Hyrul has been given the opportunities to carry the lead roles in the highly rated drama series Teman Anugerahku in 2006 and Otak Alfie Berdengong in 2009.
